Well I planned to use a repti-carpet till my beardie turned around 8 moths old (4 months old now)

But I find my beardie trying to "dig" into stuff, I was letting him wander around my desk and he stuck his nose into a corner and started trying to "dig" his way down, with no luck because he was sitting on a wood surface. He also does the same with my carpet, will find a corner in the wall and try and dig into the carpet, its hard to describe I guess, but should I switch him to play sand at 4 months? Will it cause any problems
