Most people seem to recommend no mealworms at all or only freshly molted mealworms as a treat or in emergency. Waxworms are also good to give beardies but again not in great quantites due to being much richer. I have fed my beardie both mealworms and waxworms but find it alot easier to care for crickets than worms. I don't have to buy specific food for crickets, I can just feed them the same greens I feed my bearded dragon which helps cut down on how much greens I wind up throwing out.
