Beardies use fermentation and bacteria to digest, which means it is very difficult, especially for small beardies to digest chitin. I would have to assume that geckos have a some difference in their digestive systems since they are nocturnal and don't require 100+ degree temps to digest food..

:I own leopard geckos and i feed them Mealworms/crickets.. mostly mealworms though. Im thinking that, if my geckos which are max size around 9 inch compared to the max size of a bearded dragon.. I think the dragon can eat mealworms. They are just about the same nutrients. So i dont see why people say that mealworms can cause impaction b/c i feed my leos and MANY MANY others feed their leopard geckos mealworms as a staple food! Just make sure u gutload the mealworms properly and you should be fine! This is My opinion..
