We just got 2 baby beardies and are keeping them in a 4 foot glass tank with metal viv lid. While doing heat tests yesterday i was unable to get the basking end to the desired 95-100 degrees and the cool end was in the low 70s. I added a lower wattage bulb to the cool end which pushed the hot end temp up to the correct range. The other end of the tank is now around 88 degrees and the middle below the air vent is at 82.
Is it acceptable to have a centered gradient like this (98 - 82 - 88)?
Cheers
Nick
