Glad you mentioned that he's in shed because a lot of times when they are about to shed they can get quite cranky. When they are in pre-shed and their eyes cloud over it obviously means that they can't see during this time so you basically have a blind animal until it sheds. So if you try to handle it you'll probably startle it since it can't see that you aren't a threat. It's a good idea to not try and not handle them or feed them during this time for these reasons and since the whole process is a bit stressful to them. You said that it tried to strike you when you type on the keyboard? Do you have your setup right next to your computer or something? If this is the case you may want to move it to a quieter part of the room because all the typing and activity involving you and your computer might make it a bit stressed or cranky too. By the way, you might want to start going to the new forum since everyone is posting over there now. I just pop back here every once in a while just in case. They're eventually supposed to lock this one from posting anyway. Here's the link to the new forum.
