Unless you only use newsprint as a substrate, you are going to have trouble.
I've experimented with peg board once before. Yes it is easy to work with, but it doesn't take well to any humidity. Sagging, Swelling and mold are only a few problems I've expereiced.
The first set of racks I built were to house some balls. This ended in a moldy mess about 4 months later. I only used them long enough for me to make some racks out of melamine to replace them. I was able to salvage one and use it for some leopard geckos, but have swelling problems due to room humidity(I'm in the process of replacing this one as well). So I guess my advice would be to only use peg board with desert species, in extreme dry conditions and also you get what you pay for.
