10 Gallon Heating and UTH- NEWBIE :)

Hey guys, I have pondered a few more questions. What UTH's seem to be the best. I like the T-Rex cobra pads just because they look more profetionaly and they are a bit larger. Are those good? Also, will a UTH properly heat a 10 gallon on its own. I was planning on getting a digital thermometer but where would I want to measure the temperature. Right aboive the substrate. Please help im getting my hatchling tomorrow :)
