I can't remember what it's called at the moment, but get a brick of shredded coconut shell. I got some about 2 weeks ago and it has worked WONDERS!!! It's about the size of a regular brick, and you let it soak in hot water for about 1/2 hour. Squeeze out the extra water. That holds humidity extremely well!!!! i got some chipped coconut to put on top so that my bp isn't directly on the moist substrate. This boosted my humidity from 25% to a steady 70% for 2 weeks so far with NO misting!! I had just switched from aspen, which I liked as well, but didn't hold any humidity for me. If you go with any wood-chip substrate, remember to feed it on something else. My bp always seems to get something stuck in its teeth, which can be a pain.
