ODD BABY BALLS

A friend of mine just got a 100 lot of imported babies. The colors look great on most of them and there are a small percentage that looks like apricot pastels (if you want to call them that). However, there was one little male that looks normal, mostly, but when handling him, it feels like a part of his back is broken...sort of like a car ran him over. Is this normal? Will he outgrow this as he eats? What about those apricot looking snakes? Will they darken up or are they 'unproven pastels'?
