That's the sure way to tell! It is fun and easy and will tell
you what you want to know. If you feel eggs, you will know.
Note: I do have a few females that are too big to palpate and
I can never feel any eggs on them (although they ovulated, shed,
and are expected any day now!).

:I'm thinking this female is gravid and will lay any day but then I don't have experience with females this fat (she ate like a pig up until a few weeks ago when I decided I HAD to cut her off). Normally when their bowels should be empty and they carry their weight this low (thickest in the last third) I think laying is eminent but her shape is a little different than the leaner females I've had lay in the past. The floorboards are 2 & ¼ inches wide by the way.

:I guess time will tell but anyone care to speculate?
