:Well, the bad news is that two of this clutch died during devlopment. The good news is that the remaining 8 eggs have hatched, pipped or are in the process of doing so. These two eggs below died between 4.5 and 6 into incubation. One picture is taken without a flash, while the other did use the flash. The interesting thing is, the one on the left appears to be the more developed, although a little smaller. The one on the right has a shorter nose and less pigment. Thats odd because the one on the left was the first to die. The rest of the egg was filled with hardened, rubbery yolk (I guess its what was left of the yolk). I'm assuming that this rubbery mass is abnormal. Anybody know what may have caused the death? Is the rubberizing of the yolk a symptom or cause? (i.e., was this hardening pre or post mortem?) I'm interested in hearing everybodies thoughts! Thanks!
