BPs are a great pet. I just got mine a few months ago and he is really a lot different than frogs, which you can not handle. I like snakes because they are not harmed by being handled. (Not to say I dislike frogs; they're my specialty :) but yeah, balls are great to have, much less daily maintenance than frogs require too. I would make sure the ones youre interested in are captive bred, or at least tame and handleable if it's your first snake, and read as many millions of pages of info about them first as possible!
