: DAILY EXPRESS (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia) 26 October 00 Victim of croc attack : Semporna: The remains of a man, believed to be a crocodile victim, was found in Sungei Kolumpang about 50km from here on Sunday. : District police chief Supt Sulaiman Junaidi said police rushed to the scene after being alerted by villagers about the body by the river. : Search for the body was called off due to fading light at 6.30pm and was continued the next morning. : At 8am, the team recovered the naked body floating but to their shock the upper section was missing, believed to have been severed by crocodile bite. : Sulaiman said police are still ascertaining the identity of the deceased since there was no missing person report lodged. : He urged residents here having any knowledge of people missing to contact police. The remains were sent to the district hospital for post mortem. : According to him, crocodile attacks in this part of the district was not uncommon and happened almost every year.
