pulau seribuh (indo) varanids.......question

Hi,
i remember two diferent species of monitors in the pulau seribuh aricpelago. On pulau putri (besar) there used to be smallish monitors that use to come out and eat the trash or scuttle on the beach. But on pulau putri (kecil, or commercial) there used to be huge monitors, and from i remember, they looked exactly like komodo dragons and nothing like v. salvator. Can you please help me identify these two species?
