First of all, be aware that the most toxic snake is called the Inland Taipan, although it does not occur on (or off) Taipan (the island). It is a terrestrial snake that is only found in the arid interior of Australia.
As far as I know (I am no expert - I just remember reading this), the sea snake with the most toxic venom is the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa). It is widespread from the Persian Gulf to Australia, but whether it occurs off Taipan, I don't know.
However, every country I have visited in that part of the world makes claims to have the "most deadly" seasnake (and land snake for that matter). In truth, that dubious honor clearly lies with Australia, for both land and sea (they have Beaked Sea Snakes off the north coast and the Inland Taipan in the middle).
