identify turtle

We have inherited a turtle.
The little guy(?)is about 2-3 years old, is about 13cm diameter, lives in a large water tank with occassional visits to the fresh air in the back yard under supervision.
Problems:
>we don't know what he/she is...suspect eastern murray short neck but has very high carapace. Can you direct us to a definitive web site to help identification?
Eats diet of white bait, prawns and calamari.
Have stopped using the calicium enrichend turtle blocks. Should we keep putting them in the tank?
>rubs his/her shell on the filter as is scratching ... is he missing something?
Woulds appreciate any assistance.
