Python as Pet

Well, after seeing a Burmese python from a pet shop here, I was attracted to own one. But after all the info provided in the internet....it's not recomended due to it's gigantic adult size.
And after seeing some of the info about Ball python, it seems to be better, coz it's size is only up to 5 feet. Do you know if there's any dealer or breeder in Malaysia that sells this kind of snake as pet?
