I have posted this question on the "what's this snake?" forum on Kingsnake, but i thought i'd ask here as well. I have a friend who recently returned from the Phillipines to tell a tale of a snake called the "three cornered snake" or "tres cantos". The snake has a triangualr cross section and can grow to perhaps 7 feet. no description available (sorry) except for the sharp "corners" and a legend that the sharp dorsal ridge is venemous. I understand this not to be true, and i understand that mangrove snakes of the region exhibit this shape, as well as possibly a far from home krait. anyone ever heard of a snake mentioned by this name, or have any ideas besides mangrove or krait?
