Identifying snake

Could someone recommend a site that displays photographs of snakes and identifies the different species. I live in Australia.

I have removed a snake from a bird aviary tonight and would like to identify its species.

It is 1 metre in length, dark brown colour with lighter brown diamond pattern on the belly. Slim body with a small head. It had climbed 1 metre in order to reach the elevated aviary at 8pm on a very hot evening.

It is still in the garden and I am concerned that it may be a venemous brown snake.
