Help needed wif Manouria emys

Does any one of u guys/gals have any experience wif Burmese brown(Manouria emys)from information i gather (books, internet etc) all said they pile up leaf litter to lay eggs in between but my two adults(20+kg female do not seem to do that they do up the pile(grass clipping) up to a feet tall but lay eggs around it instead of inside the pile.while the books say they lay up to 51 eggs at one go but mine lay almost everyday but only one at a time sometimes 2,3 or 4 at one time does tat seem normal?????
