Here is a pic of one of my 10 gallon verticals with flip down door. I use an acrylic piano hinge. I have also recently found acrylic door catches so there will not be any hardware needed to keep the door closed from the outside. I also put an acrylic door pull on the outside for ease of opening.

:Anyone know how to make a glass door that folds down? Any links? What kind of hinges do they use? Also how do you people clean the tank or remove the setup once its setup and the side are glued down except for the swinging door?
::Well thanx for the input everyone im not sure what i'll do yet but make the door on the side is a great idea never thought of it. Yes, i'll try to make it open to the left and not make that mistake. Tell me how your tank goes tony. I dont have much time but i'll try to get started next weekend.
:::I like the concept of making the side the door as opposed to the front viewing area being the door. GREAT idea. I am purchasing some imitators Monday and will be building a vertical tank so thanks for the idea. I will post pics of how it turns out.
