They are great animals, you'll find them very enjoyable. As of a book, Jewels of the Rainforest is a good start, but more up-to-date info is on the web. Just do a search then start visiting sites. Some good one or Doyle's dart den and Saurian. Their links are usually at the top of the forum page.
For a beginning frog looking into the leucomelas. They are relatively easy to care for, colorful, bold (so you'll get a chance to see them more), and have a wonderful call. Hope this helps some, welcome to our obsession. Goodluck.
