:What bulbs do you guys use from these guys? I am thinking of putting them in an aquarium hood. I think 2 13 6400k would work, but will that be more light than the reptiglo 6700k thats in it now? So many people rave about these bulbs I am just wondering.

::I use compact's on all of my tanks. Makes the plants grow great and moss looks great. AH Supply sells kits to make your own lights. They also provide instructions on building the hood. The cost is probably 1/2 of what you would pay for an aquarium light and you'll have 3 times the light output. I put a 96 watt kit in my 45 gallon which is 36" long. Their web site is www.ahsupply .com.

:::When I bought my tank it came with just the tank. Now I have the false bottom complete and am ready to put plants and water in I need a light. I have been looking at hardware stores expecting to see a 36 inch shop light fixture. I have been to every hardware store and light store in a 20 mile radius of my town and no one has them!!! I found that they usually have them at petco but they won't be ordering for another couple weeks, which doesn't work. At one of the pet stores they have one for 100 bucks and another has one for 120. Now I think that is a little pricey considering I can get a 48 inch shop light for 25 bucks. Anybody got any suggestions?
