There is an little chance he's from Cuba, since the Cuban department of nature doesen't alow trade in their flora and fauna. "You can set in prison for illegal exporting".
Within some times there are illegal expots and most time the don't really know what anole species the have brought with.
It's verry difficult to say what species you have it's his orrigin is Cuba. There are more them 50 anole species out there. Offcourse a big part doesen't like like this species. How big is his SVL (Snouth Vent Lenght)? The dewlap is it bright red or more deeply orange? Anolis jubar is a species that match with the brown colloration, that also can be black. Even the dark pattern on the body mach. Only there dewlap is in most cases yellow. Sometimes it's deeply orange. 'Probably some may be somewhat reddish'. His SVL is about 65 mm in adult males.
If you can make some higher quality pictures and send them to may I hope I could help you some more. Even every detail that you notice on your animal can help.
