Here's a story:
what started me on this road...was seeing the "baby dragons" for sale at the beach in NYC. They were selling these anoles (which at that point I had no idea what they were) as pairs, pregnant or solitary...in a little plastic carrier with some gravel and some freeze dried bugs in a clam shell. At the time I knew nothing about herps (me and all the others who purchased them). They told me to keep them in the plastic cages and mist it a couple of times a day. They said the dead bugs were fine. and no UV lighting or heat of any kind....in other words they lied about everything!They even told me they LOVED to be held! And that it was a GREAT choice for children 5 and under!
Thank god I was smart enough to research them and found out some important facts.
I still have that first anole I got at the beach. He's living with others and has a nice life (compared to what he had).
There should be laws preventing this from happening to animals. It's very sad.
