I hit the Pecos River crossing on Pandale Rd. with some other Texas herpers the weekend before last. aside from some lizards, only a blacktail at 10AM Sat. and a red coachwhip around noon on Sunday were seen. The coacwhip bit Brian, who dropped it, couldn't find it again. Lots of blood.
last Thursday I hit Hwy. 277 late afternoon with a friend. We hit some rockcuts late afternoon for lepidus, didn't see anything but a couple lizards. We cruised until about 10 PM from the edwards/val verde county line to Carruthers , saw nothing. Temps at 10 PM were in the upper 60's. The barometer was very low and the wind was WNW.
There have been some rains in the area, so it should get good soon. I'm contemplating a run down 277 next week.
