after two months of not having a vehicle, i was grateful to be able to have wheels again. last night an air mass passed through the area of alpine and herps were on the move. i only spent a few hours out recording syrrophus calling, but around 1130hrs, i came across a young male alterna crawling across a road cut 21 miles south of alpine. in a few hours i found four syrrophus calling along with a few gylopian and one arizona elegans that gladly donated blood for samples. its warm. animals are out.
