My first was a 14 inch male on a cut just east of the Pumpville turn-off at 10:15 5/23/98. It blended in with a clump of roots so well that I almost passed it up. This was only my second night in the trans-pecos and I thought collecting alterna was going to be a piece of cake! It was actually quite light when I found it, but it matured into the dark animal pictured...
