GBK query about brumation

Hey,
I have a 3 year old GBK and it has been off feed for about 4 weeks (since October 1). The temperature of the cage is 70 F on cool and 87 F on hot. I would like to brumate her for 2-3 months because I think she will lose more weight if I keep her warm than if I brumate her.

So my main question is can I or should I brumate a snake if I do not plan to breed it. Also, I have a spot in my basement that is 50 degrees and this would be where I would keep it.
