Orange Glow?? genetic???

I don't have any experience w/ gray-bands. The only info. that I know about them is from what I've read in books or on various web site, so any comments would be appreciated.
My husband and I purchased a pair of GB's earlier this year. The male of the pair was simply gorgeous, and I'm not sure if it's something thats genetic or just from local. I have no background or local info. but I'm assured that he is not a hybrid. Through out his entire body he has a orange overcast or glow is the only way I can explain it. I've taken pics but none of them show up the coloring. We have not yet bred them yet, but will do so this year. Also not sure if the female is a sibling or unrelated so don't know what effect that will have on the breeding results. Will try to get pics on even though it really dosen't show up. Thanks for any help.
