GBK in poor health, I think? Help needed.

I have recently obtained a 3-4 year old GBK. It is only 18 inches, a bit thin and in overall poor health. It is active and alert, has clear eyes, no flaps from being too thin, and bright clean skin. I got it home and set it up right away. It explored and took several long drinks of water. The only thing that really concerns me is some swelling around the vent/anus. The anal area has some crusty yellow residue and a little white oozy puss when squeezed a bit, Any ideas on what it may be or how to treat it?
