1. How quickly some people declare it a hybrid of a particular sort, despite the considerable narrative evidence here of escapees, releases, etc.
2. The evidence of how quickly hybrids can undermine confidence in genuine animals. If tricolor hognoses raised the question in someone's mind of hybridization, is it no wonder the existence of hybrids throws the pedigree of every snake in captivity--if not those in the wild, as well--into unfortunate question?
