I feel it necessary to pass this information on...in 1982, 3 adult proven breeder Lampropeltis ruthveni(2 male, 1 female) and a proven adult male Lampropeltis mexicana ssp. thayeri escaped from captivity at Villa de la Mina, W of Lajitas TX. At least 2 of these snakes were observed alive and well more than 2 years subsequent in June 1985. I hate to pop anyone's dreams of commercial profits, but any snakes which appear to be hybrids from the Lajitas area are highly questionable in my opinion. Something to think about before jumping to any big dollar conclusions...
