That snake does look a little suspect.
Namely the head has an alterna shape,
and the body appears fairly large and
almost blotched instead of banded.
I would be curious to know if you have
done scale counts and how many ventrals
is has.
While it's overall appearance is not entirely
out of character for a triangulum from RR,
it very well could have some alterna in it.
It could even be the product of some triangulum
that had some alterna in it.
I wish I knew more about DNA, I think this technology
will be able to answer all kinds of questions
for us, like this one.
