Fat african clawed frog?

I have a amel and female african clawed frog that are kept in teh same tank. I've noticed in the past few days her stomach is getting larger, bt i have not changed her feeding habis at all. My sister also noticed that the frogs were in the mating position the other night whne i wasn't home. Before females are ready tlay eggs and mate, do they put on weight? If so, howlong will it be before she alys her eggs? If not, is there any explanation?
