I'm an author seeking info on how a black mamba bite would have been treated in the bush of Northern Rhodesia in 1957. I understand there was no antivenom for mambas at the time. Were extractors around then, like the Sawyer Extractor? And how long would the victim have before any treatment would be too late (if indeed there was any effective treatment). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
