I believe I sighted one of these snakes in my backyard at Escondido Ca. I have a book that shows one picture that resembles what I saw. It was about 4 1/2 ft long. About 4 inches of the head end was a patterned black on bronze. Most of the body was a solid bronze and about 10 in. of the tail was a much lighter color - almost yellow. I would appreciate it if you could send pictures of this snake. Joe
