Your information is pretty much correct. Make sure you keep your lizard warm! My own Sudan (plated lizard), Mac, caught a cold one winter and it was very bad; he almost didn't make it.
A few hints: Sudan's eat mostly insects (crickets, mealworms, grasshopper's, etc.) and I find they are also very fond of bananas and grapes (try fruit-type babyfoods too).
Also, a dry habitat is essential: Sudan's are desert-dwelling (they are from Sudan, Africa) and can develop a type of fungus if they are kept too moist, but make sure it does have some water to drink.
