I agree with the notion of banning reptile importation; cutting off the supply of these herps will, in turn, cut off demand. I shudder at the thought of groups of natives being paid less than pennies on the dollar to go collect huge numbers of reptiles from their natural habitat, decimating the populations. I do believe that threatened herps should have organized breeding programs, but only in the supervision of professionals, not the average herper.
