Herping for youngsters is wonderful, my son is 18 months old, and when he is a bit unhappy about something in the evening hours we tell him to go look at the sapo he screams bapo and runs outside to look for the Bufo marinus which is usually on the porch. He follows it until it jumps off. Or we say where are the geckos and he begins making kissing noises and looking for gekos on the walls or in the mornings he takes tomatos out to the yard to find the Rhinoclemmys. When a basalisk lizard fell out of a bush onto his hammock and ran across his face he yelled WOW with enthusiasm. Herping at all ages is fun.
