the university of florida does not have a herpetology dept nor do they offer a degree in herpetology. i am at uf now and merely "specialize" in this field. as chris said previously, one can go anywhere and study herps, but to get a degree in herpetology is another story and not really necessary. i'll tell you from experience to go to the graduate school that offers the best stipend ($) to you. no one cares what university you got your degree at. many good herpetologists have come out of very small schools. you can work on whatever you want.
