USDA licenses apply to reptiles? Reptiles aren't covered under the animal welfare act. I do believe you have a strong case, though.

: If you read the post carefully, you would find that this is NOT a case of whether or not one can posess alligators in Illinois, it is whether or not IL endangered species protection act applies to them, and to find the local police department caused me damage.

: I hold a USDA permit, which is the same permit any zoo in the country has. I can keep any species of any size, and I invite you to see my exhibit area in my house, that I have invested well over $5,000 into.

: I do not agree that everyone should have a "pet" alligator, but those who are properly trained, qualified, and have the proper facility to maintain them, should be able to without a Barney Fife type government saying they can not.
