Depending on where you are US, UK. I do not get permits at all. My exporters handle the paperwork on their end and I place my orders the shipments arrive with paperwork for entry into the US. As far as getting an exporter well you will have to do research. It has taken me many years to get the reliable exporters in all the different countries Import from.
