Yep...looks like a Northern Water Snake to me.

:found this little guy today in central ohio not very big in size but it makes up for it in TUDE. I think it is a water snake it was basking along a creek near the house. I saw about 10 more that were alot bigger than this one but this was the only one I caught.I am going to return it after a few more pics.
