My Cerastes are great to work with. i do agree that they don't like a hook. very hard to hook one. If I move mine i just tong them.My set up is a custom made cage that is 36"X24"X20".I use Jurrasic sand in the cage aprox 2"-3" thick with a piece of heat tape buried in the back.I have a large hide den (rock looking)that they like to retreat often.I have no basking area other than the heat tape. They have a good feeding response. By this i mean that when i walk into the room with a bag of mice they will sidewind up to the glass doors and do a mock like strike indicating they readyness to feed.they take dead mice right off tongs with a quick strike.I water them about every 2 weeks,i fill the water bowl up and just let it evaporate. I have never seen them drink.I have had them for about 4-5 years and have bred them every year getting from 9-13 eggs per clutch.
Hope this helps....
