I agree! Religion can't even compete.

Of course science is not in conflict with the human spirit. But if by spiritual you mean superstitious garbage like believing a snake talked with Eve in the Garden of Eden then well you are just plain wrong. Scientific knowledge is certainly in conflict with Creationist belief. That is why the Creationists are trying to ban good science from the schools.

If you would like some healthy debate on the subject you can click on the link and open a thread on the Atheist forum. I don't think the venomous forum is an appropriate community for such discussions.

My personal experience has shown that, while the science that I love has proven to be an excellent way to describe the world, its scope is largely limited to describing and explaining. Personal spiritual experience need not find an adversary in scientific study. Rather, my faith is given rich creedance by the results of scientific inquiry, and every fact that I learn about the universe assures me more and more that a great deal of intelligence was, and continues to be, a part of its design.
