While these types of debates are better left to different forums, when someone's belief system is attacked publicly, I feel that it is that person's right to defend their faith regardless of the forum content. We have had debates about creation vs. evolution on the python and boa forums and while they get heated at times, they can invoke some great conversation, if, and only if, they can be done with respect and not hatred or ignorance (which is a rare occurance). Some have been very pleasant while some reached the point where I received some pretty vicious email from people who were truly ingnorant about the various issues. Oh well, I am rambling; just glad that Dale stood up and defended for what is right in a humble and loving way, MsTT, you should take note of Jaffo's remarks.

: Unfortunately, this discussion has fallen into the subject of religion. It is inevitable that when a person is tested and their opinions and values are put to judgement, the source behind their choices will come into question.

: In classical debate there are certain lines that are not crossed in order to keep subject matter relevan to the original discussion, and that line has been crossed here. NEVER bag on the religious beliefs of another, especially if there is such an expansive amount of resources available as with fundamental Christianity.

: Mark my words, if this arguement continues in this vain, there will be no point in which Dale will say "It's just my opinion-- deal with it."
: Real or not, he's got a couple thousand years of history to back up his belief system.

: Once again, I opt to respect the choices of others when considering their religious beliefs. I see no fence to straddle, just more human beings trying to discover a real reason for being here.
