ummmm...?........why?

why would one keep a venomous snake without the antivenom?....i think its silly to expect others to provide this should one "mess up"....its one of those prohibative reason i stick to rat snakes and such....do people own venomous and not have the ani venom on hand(educated people anyhow)?
(i just assumed it was one of those good husbandry practices)
