Midwest gave their hooks free to a worthy cause - what more can you ask???
I have never heard of Furmont doing this, and I have never heard of Furmont consulting widely on how to improve their products (though I may just have missed it), whereas Midwest seem to be doing it all the time.
MCP haven't got everything right on every product, but they are definitely the company trying hardest to come up with the versatile, innovative products that will make life a lot easier, including for those of us with more specialised requirement than the standard 3ft hook/ 36" tong combo. Collapsible tongs, telescopic hooks, ProBagger, etc - all the unusual stuff comes from Midwest. Moreover, they are always consulting with herpers to improve their designs, to the extent of sending out $100s worth of gear for herpers to evaluate and comment on.
They deserve a lot of credit for their efforts!
Cheers,
Wolfgang
