I use only Fuhrman hooks as well. That they are superior to Midwest hooks cannot be argued.
We need to remember that Fuhrman products are basically custom order items; they only make hooks to order. they do not keep an inventory. Fuhrman hooks are for the daily user and are available for a variety of scenarios; field use, zoo use, etc. They are also the only manufacturer of the traditional L hooks that I prefer.
Midwest has always been very responsive to the needs of the animal control genre. These are people that need a safe to use all around design hook. While they are not for me, they do work wonderfully for the occasional users such as these officers. The cost differential is substantial between Fuhrman Products and Midwest equipment. This is a primary concern for animal control agencies that are generally under tight budget constraints.
Midwest has always supplied gratis equipment and assistance for my training seminars for several years now. I tip my hat to Dana and all the folks there for providing such a positive statement in a field usually viewed with such negativity. Let us recognise them for the good they done for us all.
Regards.
